As Day 3 of the third Test between India and Australia commenced, the home team aimed to protect their narrow target of 76 runs. The Indians got off to a dream start as Ravichandran Ashwin delivered a spectacular ball, resulting in the dismissal of Usman Khawaja for a duck.
Khawaja was a key contributor for the Australians in the first innings, scoring an impressive 60 runs from 147 deliveries. The early removal of the southpaw batter was just what India needed.
Ashwin struck in only the second delivery of the day, as Khawaja tried to defend on the front foot, but the ball turned sharply and caught the outside edge, landing safely in the hands of KS Bharat. Khawaja took the review, but Ultraedge confirmed his exit.

Following Khawaja’s dismissal, Marnus Labuschagne and Travis Head batted without any mistakes, relentlessly attacking the Indian bowlers. Australia lost only one wicket and won the game by nine wickets.
